“WIS checks (roll under wis on d20 for success)
movement: wis fail=enemy charges, wis pass= enemy takes cover and uses ranged.
In melee combat: wis fail= enemy performs basic attack, wis pass= enemy perfoms a spell, feat, called shot or trip/disarm/grapple type move depending on the roll result and the creatures special attacks.
It makes for a pretty random encounter for one person. I used WIS because INT measures how much a person knows, and WIS is a persons decision making ability.” (Steve Sublett)
In m20 one could use knowledge skill checks instead of WIS.
