Me and my players finished a campaign. It was run in m20. At higher player levels we ran into problems. Fighters had ridiculous to hit bonuses, thieves and rangers had ridiculously low to hit bonuses, all the rolls that add +LEVEL as a modifier look broken at 12+ levels.
Where we playing it wrong? Is there a hack for this problem? Would replacing +LEVEL with 5e style proficiency bonus fix it? What to do, what to do?
We’ll be starting next campaign soon and I need to come up with a better ruleset for it.
