Hey folks! I just ran my first game of Microlite Purset Essence and it was a blast. I made a bunch of pre-generated characters, including some that were not in the rules like the Barbarian and Monk. The player who picked the Monk envisioned more of a devout cleric type than a martial artist. So I offered him the cleric, but he said he wanted to be monk. He tried praying to his god for miracles, and I felt a little bad not being able to accommodate him. I tried explaining that clerical spells are miracles. He wished his god to strike down a rat warrior, which is way beyond the kind of effect I would allow. On the other hand, he knew what he was getting into, having played a D&D monk before.
I'm trying to find some way of adding clericalness to his monk without stepping too much on the party cleric's niche. Perhaps gaining clerical spells at, say, 1/3 the rate of the cleric. Or perhaps select clerical spells that fit his archetype. Any suggestions?
