Re: [SotU] Folk Hero

Me too, and I'm the one who posted this ruleset in the first place! XD (I'm not doing it myself because I don't actually know how to make a PDF.) Trivia: Almost every single spell was based on a Force power from Star Wars: Saga Edition 's core rulebook, with a small handful from the Knights of the O...

Re: [SotU] Folk Hero

[SotU] Folk Hero

Something inspired by Searchers of the Unknown (specifically, the Target 20 edition) and one of its spinoffs whose name I'm... not entirely sure I'm allowed to fully speak here, but I think I can get away with Here is Some #%&$ing D&D instead. ___ The Elevator Pitch You are an adventurer. The daily ...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Cool! Always happy to see others using my crazy rules XD When you're in Crane Stance, you can spend a ki point to increase your unarmed damage die by one size until the start of your next turn-- if it was a d4, it becomes a d6; d6 becomes a d8; d8 becomes a d10; and d10 becomes a d12. This is not an...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Here we go. This is wholly in the realm of the experimental. Feel free to modify/discard this as needed. Multiclass Characters When your character gains a level, they may pick one of these abilities in lieu of the advancement granted by their class. Hit Points and Recovery Rolls You use your origina...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Feel perfectly free to "permanently borrow" what I have here-- that's what it's here for, after all! (Most of this is just abilities adjusted from the 5e SRD anyway.) Clerics don't start with any prayers other than Divine Smite, Healing and Turn Undead at first level. Now that you mention it, that d...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Thanks! A lot of the kasunda's abilities were based on the 5e monk, parceled out into my "Give the very basics at first level, let the players choose what abilities they want" philosophy. I think I borrowed the idea of stances from either Pathfinder 2e's monk or the initiate classes from 3.5e's Book...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Well, it's been a while. Far too long for something I wanted to continuously work on, but such is life. Ah well. Time for another class, I think! The Kasunda Fists and feet of fury Rain swift vengeance on your foes Then they move no more. ~ Ancient Proverb You start with 8 + your Strength modifier h...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

The original idea was that spellcasting works like a weird hybrid between the 5e warlock-- they gain a very limited number of spell slots, and their spell slots increased in slot level as they gained levels (warlocks lose the ability to cast 1st level spells in 5e after a couple levels, for example)...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

And here's our fourth class! This is gonna be a tough one to figure out magic for, because... well, magic. The Mage Power eldritch is at your fingertips-- power to bend the laws of the universe across your knee. They are strange, but help in the most interesting of situations. You start with 6 + you...
