Re: More m20 Thoughts

The original idea was that spellcasting works like a weird hybrid between the 5e warlock-- they gain a very limited number of spell slots, and their spell slots increased in slot level as they gained levels (warlocks lose the ability to cast 1st level spells in 5e after a couple levels, for example)...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

And here's our fourth class! This is gonna be a tough one to figure out magic for, because... well, magic. The Mage Power eldritch is at your fingertips-- power to bend the laws of the universe across your knee. They are strange, but help in the most interesting of situations. You start with 6 + you...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

And after a week or so, our third class! The Rogue Fair fights are for suckers. If you're in it, you might as well win it, right? You resort to underhanded cowardice combat pragmatism in combat. Some call it cheating, you call it technique. You start with 8 + your Strength modifier hit points. Your ...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Right. I should probably fix that in the class chart (and then do the same for the warrior's fighting styles.) XD

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Let's give a second class today while I have some time off work. I'm not sure if this is overpowered or not, but it's intended to be a cleric/paladin hybrid. The Priest The Great Dragon is a powerful ally to have. While most people pay the Dragon lip service in their prayers, you are a special case....

Re: More m20 Thoughts

Today, a cleaned-up repost from the Oceana topic-- the first, the best, the greatest character class. The Warrior Let us not mince words. You slay monsters, and as the occasion calls for it, people. Whether you are a professional mercenary, a former militia soldier, a village guard with something to...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

A bit of mid-day thinking on m20 and how I want to modify it. Miscellaneous Stuff Shields As usual, shields provide a +2 bonus to Defense when wielded. The most common shields in the Winterlands are round wooden shields that protect the wearer's body from the neck to mid-thigh when wielded defensive...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

One more bit of m20 randomness tonight. Weapons Most Microlite20 settings are dangerous places, and characters are expected to carry a weapon or two. So here's some not-playtested-at-all weapons. | Melee Weapon | Damage | Critical Effect | |:-:|:-:|:-:| | Unarmed | d3 bludgeoning | No Crit | | Dagge...

Re: More m20 Thoughts

I should really stop neglecting stuff I'd like to work on. =p Anyway, today in this "busted pieces of Microlite20 that I might forge into some kind of odd variant" we have everyone's favorite part of gaming: Character Creation Don't give me that judgmental look! (In fairness, most of this is copied ...

Re: Microlite20 Owl Hoot Trail

As a side note, this is the playtest version of Owl Hoot Trail. Though it plays just fine, there's a couple differences in the full version.
