Re: Conversion of 5E Monsters (or ovall Conversion Guide)

Hmmm, that seems like a good solution, assuming the GM is going to use out of the box 5E creatures exclusively. Using anything written for m20 then puts the creatures at a disadvantage against the PCs "additional" damage, although admittedly perhaps not much of one. Maybe I'll playtest it and see ho...

Conversion of 5E Monsters (or ovall Conversion Guide)

Hey, does anyone have a recommendation for converting monsters from 5E proper to Microlite? I'm using Microlite Fifth Adamantine as my "core" for rules, and I know the intent was for them to be compatible. But the advancement of class features in 5E, specifically those that deal (lots and lots of) d...

"Hot Pursuit" Mechanic

Here's another mechanic we used recently that may be of some value to someone. The PCs were chasing a would-be burglar through the alleyways, and based on the initial encounter this footpad had a lead of 20 feet on them. They all had the same base movement rate, but PCs were allowed either a Physica...

Re: "Reverse" resource/"Chore" dice

Hi sofge , Yes, so sorry, I should have done that! But you're right, the idea is to eliminate bookkeeping. Basically, you set a starting die, say a d10, to represent your resource. Whenever you use it, you roll that die, and when you roll a 1 (or other target range), you "move down" to the next die ...

"Reverse" resource/"Chore" dice

Here's a quick mechanic I used during an M20 game played over the last couple weeks. Set in the 1790s, PCs were 0-Level servants in a New Orleans antebellum manor where their employer (to whom they were very loyal) was thought to be in danger. Their main objective was to investigate by speaking with...

Re: Summer Witching Program: Can I sell it?

I'm also planning on producing an m20-based ruleset, so I can share what I understand, which is hopefully correct. 1) Check this thread, which also describes the difference, but the main distinction is between OGL Content (freely available) and Product Identity (owned by the creator. https://microli...

Re: Microlite2020 Release Candidate(s) for Proofreading

Here are the first release candidate for Microlite2020 and Microlite2020 Old School Edition. I believe they are "feature complete". This means it is time for proofreading for typos and text that may not be a clear as it should be. I'm horrible at proofreading so all help is much appreciated. Hey ra...

Re: Microlite2020?

Hey @randalls, looking good so far!

One quick comment: on the OSE edition, you mention that there's 4 stats, but only list 3 (missing CHR).

Maybe you've caught in a more recent draft, but thought I'd toss it out there.
